Revcontent is the biggest content discovery network. Co-operating with the world's biggest media brands, it provides you with a global reach of native traffic. With both traffic source template and cost integrations with Voluum, tracking their traffic with Voluum cannot be easier.
Integration available: The following document describes the setup for the basic template integration. However, this traffic source can be integrated via a reliable API connection thanks to the Automizer feature. This enables accurate cost tracking, campaign management from the Voluum dashboard, and rule creation. If you want to fully integrate this traffic source with Voluum, read the Revcontent Full Integration article first.
Note that Revcontent does not support passing information via the token. To fix this, Voluum has developed the Integration feature that offers a deeper connection between these two platforms. This connection allows for accurate cost values to be passed. If you want to use this feature, complete this guide and go to the Revcontent Full Integration article.
There are two things needed to create a complete campaign flow with Revcontent and Voluum. Make sure that you have:
Once you have both, you can read the remaining part of this guide.

In the first step, we describe how to create a campaign in Voluum. This will provide you with a campaign URL that you will submit as a target URL in Revcontent. In order to do so, perform the following steps:
Create a traffic source element. Voluum provides you with the Revcontent traffic source template, so you can use it and skip most of the manual setup. In order to use this template, perform the following steps:
Click the Create button and select the Traffic source option from the drop-down menu.
Create a campaign.
In Voluum, go to Campaigns, click the Create button and select the Campaign Simple or Campaign Advanced option from the drop-down menu.
Provide basic campaign information.
Click the Next button.
Provide traffic destination information.
Click the Save button.
Copy the campaign URL by clicking the Copy button.
You have now successfully created a campaign in Voluum. Go to Revcontent to continue.

In order to create a campaign in Revcontent, perform the following steps:
Click the + Create Campaign Boost button.
Select if you want to optimize your campaign for engagement or CPA ROI.
Voluum Note: If you select that you want to optimize for CPA ROI, you will need to pass information about conversion from Voluum to Revcontent. In order to do so, you will need to create a conversion pixel by clicking the Create pixel button and submit the link from the pixel as the pixel redirect URL in the traffic source setup.
Click the Save button. The Add content pop-up window will appear.
Provide the copied Campaign URL in the Destination URL text field and click the Submit button.
Voluum Note: Remove the rc_uuid={conversion_uuid} part from the campaign URL, as this tracking parameter will be appended to the destination URL automatically by Revcontent system.
Click the Submit button.
Your campaign boost has been added and is pending approval.

If you have selected the option to optimize your campaign boost for CPA ROI, you need to pass information about conversion from Voluum to Revcontent.
Voluum Note: The solution for passing conversion information to Revcontent is cookie-based, so there are two factors to consider here: To report conversion information to Revcontent with the cookie-based solution, Voluum has to get this information using the same type of solution. In Voluum, the cookie-based conversion tracking solution is called Conversion Tracking Pixel. Read the Track Conversions Using a Conversion Tracking Pixel to learn more.If cookies are disabled on a visitor's web browser, information about conversion will not be recorded in Voluum, and by implication, in Revcontent.
In order to do so, go to the text editing tool where you have pasted the copied conversion pixel link and perform the following steps:
http://trends.revcontent.com/conv.php?t=mfzTv80IJ2xH1mjnY%2Bmp0wFN%2FhC%2B1UzUiT4PktGhjBsMbtbNENtts91SxcI%2Bcdsk
In your text editing tool, you have the copied conversion pixel. It should look like this:
<img src="http://trends.revcontent.com/conv.php?t=mfzTv80IJ2xH1mjnY%2Bmp0wFN%2FhC%2B1UzUiT4PktGhjBsMbtbNENtts91SxcI%2Bcdsk" />
Remove everything that is not a part of a URL. The URL should look like this: http://trends.revcontent.com/conv.php?t=mfzTv80IJ2xH1mjnY%2Bmp0wFN%2FhC%2B1UzUiT4PktGhjBsMbtbNENtts91SxcI%2Bcdsk
Copy the URL to the clipboard.
Click the Save button.
With this setup, conversions will be reported to Revcontent.

Revcontent now also supports passing conversions via a postback URL, a method that is far more reliable than the pixel-based solution. What's more, it allows you to use any conversion tracking method for recording conversions from an affiliate network. When using Revcontent's pixel, you were locked to using Voluum's conversion tracking pixel for that. Now you can also pass conversions tracked with a postback URL.
https://trends.revcontent.com/api/v1/conversion.php?api_key=<your_api_key>&uuid={externalid}&amount={payout}Go to Voluum and edit the Revcontent's traffic source. Look for the traffic source postback URL template. It should look something like this:
https://trends.revcontent.com/api/v1/conversion.php?api_key=<your_api_key>&uuid={externalid}&amount={payout}
<your_api_key>
with your API access key without the < >
characters.Revcontent does not support passing information about the cost in a token. Because of that, you will not get the complete picture of your profitability or return on investment. You could use the Manual Cost Update feature and update cost information manually on a daily basis or try the Cost integration feature. This is an API-based solution that allows Voluum to automatically ask Revcontent about cost information every short period of time and update your stats accordingly. Read the Full Integration article to learn more.
